The Scientific Research Institution (NII in Russian) of Children's Healthcare and Physical Therapy
This scientific-research institution was originally a branch of the central NII but is now an independent institute.
The most modern medical-diagnostic equipment and highly-qualified personnel allow for the most serious scientific attention for assessment of a patient's condition and development of effective methods for recovery that take individual particularities into account.
Today one of the scientists' priorities is the development of the ecological pediatric field, i.e. searching for and introducing differentiated methods to rehabilitation (using health resorts) of children from nuclear radiation zones and other ecologically disadvantaged regions.
Doctor V.Poberskaya is a highly-qualified children's cardiologist and rheumatism specialist. After researching the possibility of treatment using Evpatoria's resorts, she refused to follow the misgivings of other physicians regarding the risks of using mud therapy on children with heart vessel disease; she proved that mud therapy has positive results for these children. Currently in Evpatoria she is developing optimal methods of treatment for children with thyroid diseases, including for children from iodine-poor regions.
Under the direction of Doctor A. Buryginoy at the institute, treatment methods for childhood cerebral palsy are being developed. In particular, laboratory computer equipment has been improved, including a multi-channel electro-stimulator for patients of spastic forms of cerebral palsy, which greatly improves the motor activity of afflicted children.

Department of Children's Physio-Therapy and Health Treatment of the Cabinet of Ukraine
The department of advanced studies for doctors at the Crimean Medical University has gathered the best scientific professionals working in this health resort city. Recent scientific efforts have concentrated on helping children from the Chernobyl zone and from industrially polluted regions. Physician guests of the city have the opportunity to combine work with pleasure: study in a department course of professional improvement regarding treatment of today's ecological diseases while at the same time relaxing at the resort city.

Diseases of motor systems
From the very first years of Evpatoria's development as a resort, invalids suffering from diseases affecting their motor systems came here with faith in the wonder-working mud, Rapa (salty estuary water) and other natural medical factors. Evpatoria's physicians have accumulated valuable experience in the treatment of diseases affecting posture and motion.
In modest Health Ministry sanatoriums for many years in a row you will find the everyday yet noble work of rehabilitating children with diseases that have confined them to their beds. Even though these kids live in the biggest cities, these sanatoriums have helped them when practically no one else could. Without treatment in sanatoriums such as Krupskaya, Orlionok, Uzhniy, and the Ukraine Defense Ministry Youth Clinic, these children would be doomed to remain invalids.
Israeli physicians (working in a country with exceptionally advanced medicine) have an interest in the work of Evpatoria's health resort orthopedists. Israeli physicians use similar methods to rehabilitate patients with severe orthopedic diseases but the cost of their treatment is 10-20 times more than in Evpatoria.
For cerebral palsy, Evpatoria uses a method of healing in stages using a plaster cast. This method was designed by specialists from the Ukraine Defense Ministry Youth Clinic, managed by A.Neniko, a doctoral candidate. This is the only place in the C.I.S. for treatment of joint disease with this method, otherwise only practiced in western countries (France in particular). It uses a gradual correction of the joint with a plaster armband (cast) in 5-6 stages, providing gentle, un-forced moving of the fixed-mobility joint.
In this health clinic, as well as in the Krupskoy Sanitarium, operations are conducted on lengthening limb segments, tendons and muscles to reconstructed the head of the hip joint.

Juvenile Rheumatism, Systemtic Lupis
Sanitarium Zdravnitsa is one of several in the C.I.S. which specializes in the treatment of juvenile rheumatism, differing in many ways from the generic form of the disease. Children suffering from this recently wide-spread illness have much better recovery statistics than children in similar sanitariums in other places, due to the unique medical characteristics of Evpatoria. Additionally, sanitarium Zdravnica is the only one in the C.I.S. which has begun to treat childhood rheumatism at a very young age, as early as 3 years old.
As seen in no other country in the CIS, this sanitarium has successfully treated the most complex disease - Systemic Lupis, as well as nodular polyarthritis and systematic scleroderma
Having started out as one of first places to rehabilitate patients with hearts damaged from diphtheria, Zdravnica maintains this matter as a priority, as in its treatment of chronic tonsillitis which can lead to rheumatism and kidney disease.

Sterility
From the first years of the rise of mud therapy, Evpatoria gained fame for itself as resort that could help childless women discover the joy of motherhood and help men become lucky fathers. Treatment for sterility is very complex because the disorder arises from various diseases affecting the sexual/reproductive organs.
For instance, N.Moshikov (a candidate of medical sciences) heads the medical service at Sanitarium Youth Center "Mriya" and has developed a treatment for female sterility that combines mud therapy with vaginal irrigation using Rapa and gynecological internal vaginal vibro-massage using a device developed there. Treatment results show the ending of pain for 69% of those treated, normalization of the menstrual cycle for 48%, and onset of pregnancy within 2-4 months for 37% of women treated.
Evpatoria's maternity hospital  has accumulated great experience in the treatment of sterility and other female sexual/reproductive diseases. For more than thirty years K.Braginsky headed this facility and is a full member of Russia's Association of Fertility Specialists. He supports the proposal to create an international centre for extracorporeal fertilization in Evpatoria. Currently one of the city's sanitariums is leading the work to equip this institution, a project which several decades back would have been thought of as pure science fiction.
EEvpatoria's specialists, in particular at Sanitarium "40 let Oktiabra", the first to decide to correct the essential deficiency of dealing for many years with sterility treatments, under which a woman or man often find themselves alone at the health resort. When spousal relations become tense due to one of them having a disease, separation quite often results in an ultimate breakup.
Adepartment for treatment of marital sterility was organized in the sanitarium. And from the very first months has shown the advisability of taking just such a step: in many situations is was revealed that for instance, the problem was not with the wife who had been blamed for the childlessness, but rather with the husband. Such joint treatment improves psycho-emotional relations between spouses. And as for concrete results, this is presented in the sanitarium with a photography exhibition of children born due to fertility treatments in Evpatoria.

Impotence. Sexual Dysfunction.
TThese ailments also cause people many problems. Unfortunately, stress, overwork, poor nutrition and other burdens that accompany our life cause early manifestation of male sexual dysfunction. For ages, many of Evpatoria's sanatoriums have been treating these problems using the natural health qualities of the resort. But even more practical rehabilitation has come with modern technology.
The City Hospital Nazareth Medical Center uses the latest equipment and imported devices to implant penile prosthetics, helping men to completely forget about their sexual problems.

Gynecological Diseases of Young Women
The foundations of children's gynecology were first set down in particular at Evpatoria's health clinics. Specialists of the Central Resort Polyclinic, Sanitarium Tavrida, Udarnik and other clinics have accumulated broad experience in the treatment and identification of these diseases. Identification is especially important since these diseases often present similar symptoms as many of the wide-spread diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, kidneys and other internal organs. With just book knowledge and no experience in treating such diseases, doctors can miss the onset of dangerous illnesses which can cause sterility and other ailments.
Today, children's gynecological departments work in all sanatoriums in the Evpatoria Health Resort Association, and first and foremost, in health centers accepting parents with children.

Childhood Cerebral Palsy
Parents, whose unfortunate fate has forced them to continually observe the torments of their children afflicted with cerebral palsy deserve much sympathy. Evpatoria's sanatoriums Spark, Rodina, R.Luxemburg and Chayka and Ukraine Defense Ministry Youth Clinic, console these parents and do everything possible to end the muscle spasms, improve the child's motor ability and to develop their psycho-emotional health.
For this purpose such traditional methods as mud therapy, baleno-procedures, physical therapy, massage and physiotherapy exercises have been used very successfully. But the scientists and doctors search deeper for treatments and toward introducing the possibilities of bio-computer technologies.

Effects of Ionizing Irradiation
Evpatoria was the first resort that accepted for treatment people from areas affected by the Chornobyl catastrophy.
At first, most doctors worried about bringing these patients to Evpatoria because they felt the highlevels of natural solar radiation was bad for people who had already been exposed to increased levels of radiation.
In depth scientific studies of the problem have shown that under Evpator's conditions, treatment of patients from areas with radio-nuclear damage and other regions of unfavorable ecological environments (today, this means practically all industrial cities) is successful due to the modulating effects of the climate and therapy with mud, Rapa, sea and mineral water on the immune system. Using a cautious approach, with measured suspension dosages of the procedures, patients may use mud, Rapa, and solar bath therapy. But it is best not to do so during the hottest part of the day. This is why Evpatoria's ability to work in all seasons (not only at summer) is very important.
Sanitarium Premorye for parents with children has become the base for developing and introducing rehabilitation methods for inhabitants of regions exposed to ionizing radiations. But these methods are used in literally every clinic in the city.
Fnew direction for treatment of people from polluted regions is the use the non-traditional medical procedures. These were introduced in the medical centers working at the Boarbing House Rodnichok and Gold Beach, the first in Crimea and even Ukraine.
Heightened immunities, restoration of blood manufacture and neurohumeral are offered here with complex treatments.
